hi all,

i found this interesting system on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAP.....K:MEWAX:IT

can anyone tell if this is just a common G-7400 someone has put stickers on "DIK" or what else could this be?

you saw the joystick with the artwork in that same orange color on the second pic he provided? a detective case for true Videopac fans there Naughty

the joystick looks handcoloured by the owner - the letters look like prints. i am sure the owner also did put the letter stickers on the console but you never know. i am not a videopac pro ;-)

Mark is right!

This might be my old G7400. I cannot remember putting those stickers on my G7400 back then, but:

a) DIK were my initials in the 1980s.

b) We had a Samsonite suitcase back then, that had self-adhesive letter stickers, and they looked exactly like the ones on this G7400

It is really possible that this is my old G7400 from 1984, and I would like to bid on it. So please be kind and don't bid, thanks smile

errr...i'm sorry

There is no such thing as a dedicated G7400 tape recorder. You could use any tape recorder with microphone and headphone jacks. I think Philips used just a standard Philips tape recorder for that picture.

isn't this the one which is also used on a picture on either the C7420 box or in one of the catalogs ? I always assumed this is the "official" C7420 tape recorder (which buy the way also understands the remote control from the 3rd cable - no idea if this was ever standardized ...)

I think this is the picture from the C7420 box? Adrian?

I have to take a look at my tape recorder tomorrow. Somehow I have in mind it has 3 jacks too ...

it´s from one of the manuals of the philips videopac microsoft basic module.

check this out:

http://www.pong-picture-page.d.....ts_id=2282

here you can see the two C-7420 manuals i have (french & italian). note the strange joysticks shown on the cover of the french manual.

1-2 years ago a guy sold a lot of stuff on ebay. along with it he also sold a loose tape player especially for the videopac system. it was the one pictured on the c-7420 manual.

i will check my pictures if i still have one of this tape player

Those are Odyssey3-style joysticks. I have no idea why they appear on a European manual. Maybe at some time Philips thought of replacing the old joysticks with the Odyssey3 joysticks. I am not sure if G7400s with those new joysticks have been actually found so far?

"I am not sure if G7400s with those new joysticks have been actually found so far?"
