Do you have a console?
Yeah, I bought a white regular one off a seller on eBay.at or was it onetwosold.at a looong time ago and some nice hucards with it for a good price (I believe
).
I read about the PCEngine in some english magazines back then and the press hyped R-Type to high heaven. Well, it never ever got released over here and would it have been, I surely couldn't afford it. What I do now, is collect some nice shooters and other games which are playable regardless of japanese menu text.

So, I hooked up the 'Engine through the AV1 connector on the Bravia yesterday using a NEC-AV-Booster-Module with just the video cable and one audio cable plugged in a Euro-AV connector and was prepared to do some heavy frequency searching on the Sony to get a picture. But voila, the TV immediately switched to the AV1 program and there it was: the power of the PCEngine on a 52″ screen. I really have to get longer cables, because I was sitting maybe one meter in front of the screen and boy, are these games fast and demanding – I was dizzy in a few minutes. Tried maybe 6 different shooters and I really have to practice when we're gonna have the tournament in January/February ![]()
@CCC
when you buy the US ones be prepared to think about a plug connector to our continental european standard and the difference in voltage. japanese systems, which were also sold in France are Plug'n Play ![]()

Thanks for your comments AtariBuff, sounds really amazing!! ![]()
Also thanks for the info on the US and JAP consoles. In that case, I'd rather get a Japanese one. Oh, and I didn't know that the PC Engine was sold in France too
I guess not in big quantities. Are the Frenche ones very rare?
Das taugt mir!
Aber mit wenig Ei bitte …
The French know what they can take for the 'Engine and they don't turn up very often. Better order one from Japan or Hongkong, it's even cheaper with shipping that way.
One can get great games pretty cheap from eBay.fr though
