I have a complete collection of the Electronic Games magazine, and I also have the Buyers Guide 1983.
Were there more Buyers Guides and were there other special issues of Electronic Games magazine?

The dp online guide lists two more publications:
Electronic Games 1983 Software Encyclopedia
Electronic Games 1984 Software Encyclopedia

Hmm, those two software encyclopedias seem to be pretty rare ...

Dieter, can you check for me if there are any Arcadia 2001 or Channel F games in the Buyers Guide 1983?
The cover collection is really cool! I wonder if there are complete scans of the magazine somewhere...

There is only a short review of Video Whizball (Channel F) in the 1983 Buyers Guide.

As I'm still missing some issues of Electronic Games Monthly a few questions before I can place a marketplace add:
when did they begin releasing it and what was the last number?

Do you mean "Electronic Games" magazine or "Electronic Gaming Monthly"?
The first issue of Electronic games was Winter 82/83. They published 34 issues + the Buyers Guide 1983 + the Software Encyclopedias 1983 and 1984.
Four additional issues were published under "Computer Entertainment" until the magazine finally went nuts.
