salute mio amico italiano,

how to start a "post"....

i am no big forum writer cause i still don´t know what is of interest for other readers. i could write how i got my first creativsion a late laser 500 speciment on ebay from dieter errr it was not from dieter i bought it from a friend of him. now dieter an me share this laser 500 console: i have the system while dieter has the box and i could not persuade him to trade it with me although i have other great stuff i did offer him in the past, for example a loose interton vc4000 or a schmid tvg 2000 ;-) anyway next year eurocon is in austria and i will bring a bag full of money to dieter's place to finally persuade him to let me have his laser 500 box :-)

@pongman: I'm upset cause you never posted on my CreatiVEmu forum, while you post a lot here!Tongue out

@AtariBuff: creatiVision was sold in Austria through Hartlauer shops, and I know it was quite popular there. Not very popular here in Italy, but was a "top-wanted" system since then.

I'm currently re-designing the CreatiVEmu website, and I need infos on a few released items. Would you help by listing the items you own? Maybe you have precious infos for the cV releases database. Smile

Yes, Creativision was sold in the Hartlauer shops. I still exactly remember seeing the Creativision consoles and games in their window display at their store here in Kapfenberg. But I already had a Videopac system back then so I wasn't able to buy another system. But I found the system very interesting, I guess I already loved those “underdog” systems back then

However, the system came very late here in Austria, home computers were rocketing, so the Creativision didn't get much focus. In the late 90s I contacted Hartlauer and asked if they had any stuff left in some warehouse, but unfortunately they didn't

hmm... from my latest researches, I think cV was sold in Austria in late 1982/early 1983, at the same as in Germany - maybe even earlier than in Germany.

@Dieter: sorry for me disappearing and not contacting you about trades, but I've been super-busy recently. I'm soon updating the website with a ton of news, and there's plenty of high-quality scans and images which you can also use on your site. And of course there's a whole lot of new items to add to "our" DP database! Smile

Hmm, I am pretty sure that I owned my Videopac already for a while until I saw the Creativision for the first time here in Austria. I got my Videopac Christmas 1982, so I'd say the earliest time I could have seen the Creativision at Hartlauer was summer 1983. But you are right, home computer started getting really popular here not before 1984.

I have been (and still am) very busy with my company too. So no problem with the delayed trade at all.

Fact is that the Austrian creatiVision flyer (printed by Spiel-Sport Stadlbauer) shows early cV games only. The most recent one is Deep Sea Adventure, that's dated october/december 1982.

So at the time of the console launch in Austria, it couldn't be later than Christmas 1982/January 1983.

Interesting facts:

1) Stadlbauer is known as Austrian Nintendo distributor, since the times of the Game & Watch. But well, Nintendo had no TV game console in 1982/1983, so they could distribute one from an other manufacturer

2) Probably Hartlauer was not the only one who sold the CV in Austria. Maybe some electronic dealers carried the system from the beginning on, but Hartlauer started with the CV later, in summer 83 or so ...

CreatiVision was announced for the first time in the German video games magazine TeleMatch in the June/July 1983 issue (”is already available&rdquowink, that was not long after the Colecovision release. So the German/Austrian launch could have happened in spring or early summer 1983. Just found this when flipping through the pages of my TeleMatch mags.

I was collecting all Hartlauer catalogs back then, it's such a pity I cannot find them anymore. Hope they show up some day …

I found Austrian creativisions released with the “first edition” box: that's the one with artwork from Crazy Pucker.

Later release box is the one with BASIC artwork, and no Crazy Pucker anymore.

Well, I found Austrian releases in both 1st and 2nd box, and German releases in 2nd box only. For this reason I think that:

- creativision was available in Austria around the time when BASIC was not released yet (september 1982), so maybe christmas 1982/january 1983

- creativision was available in Germany sometimes later, around march/april 1983.

- at the same time, creativision was presented in Italy (Videogiochi magazine, april 1983)

ps: spiel-sport stadlbauer flyer shows picture of games from 1982 (astro pinball, etc), not the ones from 1983 (music maker, etc.). this also makes me suppose that cv was sold before mid 1983.
