hi
How many of you own a hobby module and tryed to use it ?
My one has been modify with extra memory it has an additional ram of 1 1/2 k
Ive got a Philips microprocessor 2650 book, and some more stuff with it.
here is some info approximately 1 3/4 k bytes are available for the user programme with a standard hobby module.
It look's to me that you will have a job to programme the console as it has to be in machine code !!!
Someone has done some programmming with the one I've got, and there's a tape with programmes on it !!!!
>How many of you own a hobby module and tryed to use it ?
No, but I am familiar with the use of the (emulated) Elektor TV Games Computer which is apparently very similar. There's plenty of programming info at my site (http://amigan.yatho.com)

It would be good to get those dumped somehow. Preferably along with dumping the Hobby Module cartridge itself (as it might vary to some extent from the TVGC BIOS).
Peter Marschat (programmer of eg. the "Newton" game) just dumped some previously unreleased games he wrote via cassette. I have written a program to decode the audio files. The resulting PGM files are now available in the Elektor directory of the Games Pack at my site at http://amigan.yatho.com/ and they can be played with the WinArcadia emulator.
So enjoy these, and if anyone has any other cassettes that they could dump as WAVs (or EPROMs they could save to cassette and then dump as WAVs), I am able to decode them and make them available for use by the community.

hi
adrian has put my hobby module on ppp
link
http://www.pong-picture-page.d.....ts_id=2453
thanks adrian
That's very interesting.
Did you send him other scans which have not yet been uploaded, or is this all that has been scanned at this point?
Anyway, based on what is currently there, I can confirm that the Hobby Module OS is the same as that in the Elektor TV Games Computer (Spielcomputer). The memory layout is also the same, with the exception of some address mirrorring issues in the expanded memory region caused by hardware differences. The cassette storage format is identical; thus (a) the format is already known; and (b) games created with a Hobby Module should be loadable into and playable on a TVGC system, and vice versa.
I have converted the program listing shown at that page to Elektor PGM format and added the resulting program to the Games Pack at my site. It's rather similar to a homebrew "4 sprites to make one large object" program I wrote for the Interton a few years back, I think every programmer for these systems must write one ;-)
I am very interested as mentioned in dumping as much of the available software as is possible. Are you able to record the tape through your sound card to generate a WAV of it? Or would it be more convenient for you if I were to do this (I would not mind paying the postage both ways)?

my hobby module has an extra 1.5 k more than a standard one . If you look at the letter for braintee mirco leisure ltd it had the extra memory address for this hobby module on ppp page. This bit is to jump over the interupt at address I've found with all the paper work !!!
THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO JUMP OVER THE INTERUPT AT ADDRESS 0903 AND IS FED IN AT 0900 BEFoRE THE ACTUAL PROGRAM.
0900 1F 09 04
0903 17
I've not had much time to make a tape lead for it and play with it!!
I try to make a copy fron the tape to a cd as I've got a cd audio recorder and I could use microsoft player to make a wav file to send it to you if you give me you email address Amigan but I don't know what level to put it at you might you have to play around with it and try to load it in your Elektor TV Games Computer (Spielcomputer
there are three tapes and I think one of them is for zx81 computer
I can scan you more pages of some of the programmes that was writen for it if you like ?
>could use microsoft player to make a wav file to send it to you if you

It is amigansoftware@gmail.com
>I can scan you more pages of some of the programmes that was writen for

That would be greatly appreciated.
OK, prinztronicman sent me some cassette recordings and I have now converted them into .PGM format for use with Ami/WinArcadia. As usual, they are available at http://amigan.yatho.com/games.rar
Some files were in WMA format and were therefore not able to be extracted. The 10a, 10d and 10e files do not appear to work for some reason but I have confirmed by hand that they are accurate dumps.
Thanks prinztronicman for what you have sent so far, if you would like to send the rest I am ready to process them.
